After getting recommended for surgery in every other hospital, I went for consultation for treatment of my 17 mm Kidney stone and 9.5 mm stone in Ureter, I came across the option of Urolife Stone Clinic, where I got treated for both the uretric as well as kidney stone without operation by Shock-waves, successfully, which relieved me of terrible pain. Although non-surgical treatment requires patience on the part of the patient, but anything is welcome to avoid surgery. My trust and doctor's dedicated treatment and advice helped me to be stone free.
I strongly recommend Urolife Stone Clinic to those, who wish to try the option for non-surgical Kidney stone treatment. Thank you for the good work done and all the best to Urolife.

Lithotripsy is a medical procedure which has replaced surgery in most kidney stone patients.
Extracorporeal or shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is the most common type of lithotripsy. "Extracorporeal" means outside the body.
You will wear a medical gown and lie on an exam table on top of a soft, water-filled cushion. You will be given a mild sedative or pain medicine before the procedure starts. You will also be given antibiotics before the procedure start to prevent infection.
High-energy shock waves, also called sound waves, will pass through your body until they convert the kidney stones into small particles . You may feel a tapping sensation when this starts. The waves break the stones into tiny pieces.
The lithotripsy procedure generally takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.
The ultrasound or x-ray is done at the end of the procedure which confirms the total clearance of fragments of kidney stones from the urinary system.
Charges for stone removal depend on procedure, type of stay, consultation fee, consumables, medicines etc. and the procedure selected, but we at Urolife, do not have separate charges for all above & is included in a package. The packages are told prior to procedure during consultation.
Most stones if in kidneys and upper ureter respond well to ESWL. However in other patients with acute pain /infection, laser procedures are used which are fast, safe and gives immediate relief.
The stone fragments may pass in within a week but could take up to 4-8 weeks for all fragments to pass.
Invasive procedures are fast and precise but involve anaesthesia but if you already have, had a surgical removal it’s much needed to go for a non cut procedure depending on your suitability.
Such small 2 to 3 mm stone cases are best treated by us by ultrasound guided lithotripsy whereas other hospitals might opt for RIRS technology. RIRS is quite expensive and minimally invasive.
